Congrats Dennis! Looks sharp  What did they have it marked at if I may ask?
Maker of the Badbird Bridge, "intonation without modification" for your vintage Gibson Thunderbird

Thanks! It was marked down to $849 or so. I tried to leverage them into accepting my 15% Sam Ash coupon card on it but they wouldn't go for it!

I wish everyone of us had the chance to try one of these........
It's a fantastic bass  ;D
Resident T Bird playing Drag Queen www.thenastyhabits.com  "Impülsivê", the new lush fragrance as worn by the unbelievable Fräulein Rômmélle! Traces of black patent leather, Panzer grease, mahogany and model train oil mingle and combust to one sheer sensation ...

I agree, Mark. I don't know even how widespread knowledge of this G-3 really is, but it's underrated for sure. It's big, comfortable, the pickups are amazing and the overall tone is fantastic. It's punchy if you like, or smooth and svelte. Definitely worth the money!

Wow - very cool - I thought maybe I had missed this a while ago but it looks like it's fresh news! You can rock in the new year with it!

Nicely done.  I did a double-take when I saw it behind the counter in the bass dept.  Glad it's in good hands.

You just sounded like me when I'm on the verge. You are pretty sure you are going to buy it, you just need that last tiny nudge to push you over the edge.

Denis has a (not yet quite deep) purple wall at home.  :gay: These days anything goes.

Happy you got this sleeping beauty/ugly in Gibson's canon. That wide body Ripper shape is endearingly uncompromising whether you like it or not. I do, it has become a classic (and wasn't really copied by anybody else).

Weird. I didn't find your comment controversial in the least!

I prefer to call the color "lilac". It's actually the room I just finished for my girlfriend and her crafty projects. She sells things on Etsy and I just couldn't have her taking over the living room AND dining room! During the day the room gets better light and since it was mostly empty it was a natural for the photos.

I find the Ripper/G-3 body very comfortable and my right hand rests nicely on the bridge when using a pick. You'll love yours when you get it, Uwe!

It wasn't me! I don't even know what it was about. Nazi-apologism again?
