Very compressed sounding with an emphasis on tight, but nasal mids. There is a reason why zebrano wood is often used in fancy kitchens, those don't have to sound well. On the other hand, if you are on the lookout for a TBird to play seventies fusion with plus the mandatory chorus and flanging effects without everything getting lost in the mix and the guitarist's Al di Meola runs,  then this bass' extremely dry signal might make all your wishes come true. But raunchy it is not. Bit dead in comparison to a reg TBird.

Sound aside, to my eyes it looks out of place on a Thunderbird. Nice looking wood though.

It was obviously a very limited run aimed at people who like that look (and who maybe buy the zebra Firebird as well). I do (though it only makes sense with a natural fin and maybe a translucent one as well), but not at the price of the inherent sound impairment (unless that "bony" sound is exactly what you are looking for).

I didn't want to the the first one to post that I don't like it, but I don't like it. It looks cheap.

In real life it looks boutiquish - it sure turns heads and has people marvel.

That's why I think it looks out of place on a T-bird.

True, the TBird's shape is so unique, you really don't have to work with fancy woods or finishes - Mark's more recent glam experiment of course excepted!

 I'm such an idiot......

I like it, and even think black hardware looks okay on it, tho I'd change out those wussy ass tuners for some Hipshot clovers in black  :-*
