I really should avoid the House Of Guitars this time of year

I stopped by the HOG today to get some small Xmas gifts and I left with a worn finish Gibson SG bass :-[ A great little bass at very nice price. It really reminds me of a '65 EB3 with it's thin finish. I also like the look of the dot inlays opssed to the trapezoid on the gloss finish SG. After about half a hour of bashing out Slade and Alice Cooper tunes on it I had to bring it home ;)

Short scale :) balances fine...................I guess, haven't tired it with a strap, It will pretty much hang like a 60's EB3 I think. I know where I am going to put that Mudbucker I just bought.

If short scale, it should be a lot of fun and should balance well.

Well done mate!

The BBC put on a Slade evening here a couple of nights ago.  Documentary, Slade at The BBC (just loads of lip-synced stuff...Top Of The Pops and various kids TV shows) and the night closed with Slade In Flame.  Believe it or not, I actually thought of you while sitting glued to the TV.

Sorry, I should add this bit of Slade trivia too.

I work for a wristwatch company here in the UK...I was on the phone to one of my customers a few days back and he cut the call short saying Dave Hill had just come into his jewellery shop. ;D

Very nice!

Say, isn't the garage an awful damn cold place to sleep in this time of year? ;D

I love the SG in a faded finish. My son has the guitar version and it is really cool looking.  Congrats Scott!!!

It's a pleasantly rewarding form of insanity................

This is my closet of finished locomotives and freight cars............
I've lost count, but there are somewhere between 600-700 pieces there
Talk about coming out of the closet

I can't claim to have a collection like yours Mark though I do have my mid late 60's Lionel HO train set, Lionel only made HO for a very short time. I had my engine rebuilt about ten years ago, the motor and gears went missing. a local train shop did the restoration and they did a fantastic job. It was kinda funny when I picked it up they seemed worried and asked if the train was originally noisy (it was, a real gear masher). We ran it on thier track at the store and it was as the day I got on xmass '65 or '66, grinding away along the track. to be honest it sits on my dresser now. I passed on a box of track and a transfomer at a estate sale this summer, I should have bought it. I do however have track for my HO cars ;)
