Interesting Rossmeisl-designed Fender lucite prototype
« on: June 28, 2012, 03:50:58 PM »

Most of the time when someone claims they have a prototype, it's not. This one sure looks real to me, there's even a pic of Carl Wilson playing it.

The shape is certainly in the Fender tradition, yet it's different.

Early experiments in black hardware...  :P

That is a strange egg!  Not a big fan of the lucite, but I do like the design.  Was that headstock only used on the Starcaster?  This one would have pre-dated those...

Not Fender's best headstock design indeed... But I got used to them, cos I really like the looks of the Starcaster.

I was once told of an EBO (style?) neck married to a pentagonal shaped with prismatic (effect) edges but the "owner" never showed up with the beast, nor with even an image of it - he commented that the light "sprayed off it" in all sorts of directions and that it "weighed a ton..."

I often hankered after a Dan Armstrong (even though I'm not a shorty fan) but it never happened and I guess it never will...
