 Well,

He is, after all, a douche of legendary proportion.

Now thieves in Paris have stolen Axl's jewelry. Smart move, carrying around $200K of necklaces. Anything to keep his name in the news.

And Axl has refused induction into the R&R Hall of Fame: http://www.billboard.com/news/axl-rose-robbed-in-paris-police-say-1007242152.story#/news/axl-rose-not-attending-guns-n-roses-rock-1006737952.story

In his brain of brains, Axl is a cunt.

But he's not alone in acting like an idiot. I actually was at a Blackmore's Night concert where the roadies, at the behest of Blackmore, asked an audience member before the show to either leave (with ticket price reimbursed) or exchange his DP Tshirt against a - at least complimentary - Blackmore's Night one, otherwise Blackmore wouldn't play. This was at a time when Blacker's was asking for royalties for use of his blurred image on DP Machine Head (he's cut off bottom left)

merchandise T shirts which led to the remaining Purps promply removing his visage from the T Shirt

which had him crying "revisionism!". It settled down eventually, but, my, how idiotic can you be.

Tellingly, Blackmore likes Axl's voice. I don't.

That guy made me pretty much ignore GnR, which is too bad, because they were a good rock and roll band. The image and the voice.... ugh... Fingernails on a chalkboard. Add to that his personality.  :puke: :puke: :puke:

PS - Slash is immensely overrated.

Pretty much the same reason I ignored GnR. Slash does a lot with what he has and can market himself, I admire that. Duff was a pretty good bassist I enjoy his playing his sound is a little to brittle for me but it sure stuck out in the mix!

Slash has a nice tone and can make a Les Paul sing, but he didn't invent guitar playing. But he satisfies people's perceptions of what a rock star guitarist should be and is not nearly as obnoxious as Axl. Slash might be the eternal teenager, but Axl is the eternal idiot.

Always liked Duff and his bass playing, especially in more recent years where he looks more and more like a nineties David Bowie! I wish he played bass in his own band.

Velvet Revolver was basically GnR with another singer and I saw them live a few days before they officially split from Weiland, but man what a great concert that was. He and the band did not communicate at all that night (things were already amiss) but rather he and the four others knuckled down separately, each trying to pull off a show to be remembered by. And memorable it was. It made me a convert as regards VR (and I did not own a single GnR album at that point). Matt Sorum's drumming is nothing short of propulsive and he clicked real well with Duff.

I saw Duff on an early morning CNN show. He's found a knack for investing, and has a big involvement in helping musicians find financial security.  He should work with Ian Paice.
