They may look like the real deal, but they're not.
Bolt on neck and guitar sized pickups are the most structural differences.

They're not bad instruments though.

I've played those Iba's in the store where I used to do my "shopping" back in the day. Bass-wise they were the best Ibanez had to offer before they got ambitious and started building real guitars around 1975 .............

Dutch band Shaking Godspeed uses one of those.

Basvarken

It's one of those bands that uses these kind of instruments because they look awkward, not because they're after that partcular sound.
Dutch TV show "De Wereld Draait Door" is over crowded by bands like that. Kind of makes me wanna go buy a sunburst Jazz bass (well almost...)   8)

If you really want to blend in you need a natural 70s J with a maple fretboard and black "inlays"..... Those really are as common as muck ...  ;D

All Holländers are masters of deception.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

I had my Hiwatt DR201 besides me. But I wanted to know for sure nothing would break down, so I brought my little Ashdown Little Giant. The ugly green one. It was loaded into the Hiwatt cab:)
