Bill you can talk yourself into anything!  ;D I'm guilty of it myself ;) That is a seriously cool bass!

So true Scott, I can be easily swayed by me!!!   8)  Seriously, I discussed it with the wife and she's into collecting and very supportive, so we're looking at this as a long term investment, not just a player.  She even has suggested we consciously buy collectable basses while the market is down.  What a woman!!!!!!!!   :toast:

You two are proof that the economy in Rochester can't be that bad!

Looks nice, Bill, hope you can adjust to the neck.

To be honest, the economy in Rochester is better than average.  Also, I've been working for 37 years and have a little something to show for it.  I figure you can invest in stocks, bonds, gold, 403bs or something you enjoy and love: basses!!!!  Not a hard decision. This bass will be held for future flipping, whether I play it or not.  I think it will stay in my collection during my lifetime anyway.  Assuming of course the seller was honest about it.  My only concern is his answer to my truss rod functoin question was that he was afraid to touch it and the action is fine.  We'll see!  No risk no gain!

I used to buy basses without consulting her and she finally convinced me to kick it around with her and she's become my biggest advocate and partner.  It's much more fun searching out bargains together and talking about prices, value, etc.  She's one heck of an educated consumer.

I hope so!  Looks good cosmetically, we'll see if the rest of it is as good as the seller said it is.

In the real estate market they call Rochester steady eddy. It ain't a bad place up here, 'cept for the snow. After being laid off in 2008 I made my own job, it has it's ups and downs but best decision ever.

That's the responsible approach. As opposed to, say, a non-bassist spending his inheritance by overpaying by 2-3x market value for vintage basses while living out of a van, and then having to pawn them. Not that we have ever known anyone like that.  :-X :-X :-X

I had a lengthy phone conversation with the Tele owner and he gave a detailed desciption of the action and neck relief/condition and I'm satisfied it sounds good.  So, I told him to ship her on up to NY.  Pictures to follow whne she arrives.

I don't want to open up any old wounds, but I don't know who you're referring to!  Duh!

Someone who just couldn't behave here despite many chances. A drummer. Funny that the other former member who couldn't behave was also not a bassist.

OK.  I still don't know who they were and don't want to know!  Better to leave that alone and enjoy yhings as they are.

Got the tracking number today, the Telecaster is on its way from Memphis!

They both liked Led Zeppelin. That explains a lot.

Hey, I resemble that remark, too!  I love LZ, but my head doesn't spin around 360 degrees!   :P
