Framus Star Bass reissue

Warwick of course has an ES335-type Star Bass, but it now reissues the classic Wymann Star Bass under the Framus brand! I think Korean.

key is the neck.  My framus had a way too thin neck that made playing uncomfortable.

When I was a kid I wanted a Framus so bad because the neck fit so well. Then I grew . Now that thin neck feels like a broom stick in my hands. I'm not comfortable with them at all.

Unless you're in a Stones tribute band like Aussie Mark, what's the appeal? Were these ever really popular in Europe? They never sold well here.

I had an Framus from the 60's & all's I can say is my respect for Wyman's prowess as a Bass player went way up, it was (for me) very hard to play maybe because I don't feel comfortable w/ thin 30" necks anymore aside from my Coronado, I had a Dan Armstrong that was given back to me after I sold it to a friend 20 years earlier & I just didn't enjoy it, it felt toy-like really bothers me because there are many great looking 30" Basses out there,

Well, at fifteen hundo I am not too hot to trot for one.  I will wait till they show up used, damaged or blown out.  I mentioned the Chinese Hofners, as they really aren't that far off the real German ones but they sell for peanuts.  I have played a few of the oldies, and they are well made, but have that Hofner/Klira vibe - tubey neck.  Everything is expensive these days, so I will watch out for them.
