Some of you may have already run into this, but it was new to me. I was corresponding with a guy on the Gibson site about Les Paul Recording guitars & my LP-12 amp, I said that I regretted not making it to see Les in person before he passed away, he said that he had the oportunity to see him at the Irridium & mentioned that his son Rusty was one heck of a bass player. I responded, Does he play a Les Paul Triumph bass? He posted this photo............ You don't see one of these everyday!

That pickguard/pickup setup visually reminds me of that strange hobbit bass that Rob (IIRC) had picked up...

Here is a video...........

Do you know if it was made that way for Les, or modded by him later?

Grog

It looked to me like Les modified a '68ish EB-2 with his low impedance circuitry, but that is just a guess..............

Maybe an early prototype / experiment for the Les Paul Signature?

How close are the pickups to your Les Paul prototype?

I can't really tell from this one picture.
Size seems similar. And it looks like it has only two adjustment screws per pickup just like the ones on my prototype. The casings on the semi acoustic in the pic seem a little uneven and grey. Maybe just the epoxy without the plastic around it?

I surfed around a bit, trying to find more photos, not many out there. The bass must be his tradmark, he has it in his bands logo....... I like the way that he modified everything but the "Tilt-O-Matic" bridge!
