To avoid "I don't do fins" meditations I convinced myself I needed a Natural SG Supreme to experiment with, string wise. So yesterday I scored a 2nd Supreme on evilBay .....  ;D

I haven't felt any guilt since I clicked the Buy Now button, so I must've done a sterling job on myself ....  8)

I can't help it, but I like the look of the maple and the overall SG styling.  Nice score!

It shames me, but my Fireburst SG Supreme and my natural satin fin SG Supreme are one of those tragic incidents where  I broke the law  ...

No Uwe, you were only being reasonably flexible. You wouldn't want people thinking you were unbending and uncompromising, would you?  ;D

Nice bass!

She's arrived yesterday. The weirdest thing happened when I tried to pull off the volume knobs, both shafts broke loose from the pots  ???  Never ever happened to me in over 40 years ....

Has anyboby here got an idea where I can score some original Gibbie pots ?

Congrats Martin. Beautiful bass
Use CTS, that's what Gibson does.

Sounds to me like they had a severe ding. Where they pulled out of the pots or did they break off?

That's really odd, I wonder if they put knobs with metric diameter holes on imperial shafts, or vice versa.

I blame the shameful lack of compatibility of US pots with the metric system.  ;)

They worked alright coming out of the case but when I tried to pull of the knobs the shafts came loose out of the pots. And yup, exactly my thoughts. Contacted the seller but he didn't recall having bumped the knobs into an immovable object  ;D ....  Anyway, it's no biggie ..... it was just a very weird experience  :o
