Rattlecan paisley
« on: November 10, 2011, 09:16:28 AM »
I've never cared much for the Fender paisley, the colors don't appeal to me. But here are some that look a lot nicer (IMHO), the guy uses patterns he has printed locally and Duplicolor rattlecan finishes underneath the pattern and for the burst:

Orange Paisley Tele

Red Paisley Tele

More in progress -- the black one looks neat

I'm not a paisley fan either, but that's nice work.

Duplicolor is acrylic lacquer, nice stuff to work with.

I see the historical significance of the originals, but I'm not a fan of the look, flower child that I was!   :P

It was "STICK-UM" wall paper.  Another peculiar idea from the 60s was wallpaper that had the adhesive already on there, like a paper bumper sticker.  Which is why all the real old Fenders have big cracks and sometimes half or more of the face popping off.  The glue didn't survive too well, and would let go.  Painting is a much better idea!

You could find the original Fender flower and paisley in wallpaper shops and warehouses in the early 80s.  Most of it got thrown out.

I am still suffering paisley rebound/sensitivity from the 60's.  I got plenty of exposure then and have no desire to repeat it.

Congrats on the sale... more incoming planned or just releasing excessive GAS...? ;)

Buff, have you been into the sugar cubes???

Maybe with my morning coffee... ;)

I remember Arthur C Clarke discussing the mathematics of the Mandlebrot Set, and a variety of programmes that appeared in the PC rags to play with the theorem... it can produce some seriously surreal and random art, but art it certainly is...
