Ibanez reintroducing the Destroyer!

I remember looking at pictures of these in Guitar Player when I was a kid! Personally I 99% wouldn't buy an Explorer-shaped bass again - when I had my Alembic Exploiter I kept bumping into things around the house, dinging it up...

Looks pretty good, no binding though a 3 piece neck is a nice touch...I'm sitting a foot away from my '84. I can hear it asking, "when do I get a restoration?"

I was hoping it would be the earlier version like mine I bought new in '76

Probably trying to avoid any hint of a lawsuit.  Plus better P.R. to reissue one of your 'own' designs, derivative as it is.

I am sure ! Many of these were cut up on the docks back in the late 70's.

That's a shame, great bass!

It's also saying "I want to be refinished in black. I know how much you like to do gloss black finishes."  :vader:

I think the origina fin was trans black with solid black body.  Mine would need new binding and a lot of work to get near this one

Nothing beyond your scope and nothing less than she deserves... ;)

I'll take it under advisement, Ken.  Lots of other stuff in front of it.

Generally I don't care for the shape, but the black with binding works.

For me, those Destroyers always bring back memories of...

(well.. the guitar, anyway)

Always wanted an explorer of some sort, but hard to justify now
