Peavey Nitrobass 450/410 TVX
« on: May 22, 2011, 03:34:01 PM »
I'm attempting to help an indy band with a just breaking album (or however the music biz works these days) get a bass amp that will be reliable and loud enough to compete with a Vox valvetronix 120 and unnamed keyboard setup.  A combo will not look cool enough, especially with a JAEbird ;D.  Unfortunately a wall of Coliseums is not in the budget, $500 tops

Anyone have any experience with this setup?

Thanks!

That's a good solid tour-worthy setup. The TVX cabs can be a little boomy without as much low-mid punch as you might expect, but I wouldn't turn one away. The upper mids of the amp are actually pretty similar to a Coliseum anyway, so one of your Birds should kick ass through that rig no problem.

It may not be relevant, but I recently picked up a 210TVX, and it's a great little cabinet.  I use it along with a BX115-BW and they're a nice pair.
I had been looking for a 410TVX when this pair become available locally, so I jumped on it.

If you get the Nitro 450/410TVX, I'd be interested to hear what you think of that combination.

Best of luck.
