I'm sure this will end up going for more than I can swing at the moment, but it's only about 20 min away from me so I messaged the seller to see if I can go check it out in person. The pup & bridge cover look like possibly they are either repros, or maybe they had been removed ages ago and kept in the case - not tarnishing like the rest of the hardware. Super cool T-bird!

The seller isn't exactly filling me with confidence, 11 transactions and the only other bass sold is a $159 Squier. This auction is a BIG step up from what he is used to. After reading his auction copy and feed back I would think twice about handing over the $ this Bird is going to go for. My 2 cents ever the skeptic.

I had my fingers crossed hoping that he didn't know what he had (like on one of those American Pickers shows  ;) ) but he knew what it was, and said he was hoping to get $7,500 for it.  He said everything was original, including the covers and the finish.

I don't get it. Why did it end less than 24 hours after it started? His other auctions are 7 day; it doesn't say it was ended early to sell to the highest bidder. It sure does look like chrome covers when the rest of the hardware is nickle. Why no picture of the serial number? Call me skeptical.

  ???

When I looked at this I could have sworn it had 6 days to go - Now it says sold for 3,550.00.
If it is what he claims, he sure undersold.

I was surprised it went that long.  He said in the listing to email him if you wanted a buy it now price, obviously he got some offers and took one.  Wouldn't be out of the question he took one and lowballed Ebay.  What's the quote?  "Everything's negotiable"?

Wasn't me, looked like a refin and replacement chrome or replated nickel covers and no neck joint closeups.  But if I wanted it I sure as hell would have made an offer...Baz?
