Doing my bit for disaster recovery

Some of you might be aware of the floods that inundated two States here, causing damage and fatalities across an area bigger than Texas or several European countries combined.  There have been a lot of fundraising concerts to raise money for the victims and rebuilding infrastructure, and I played at a small one a few weeks ago with my blues trio.

On the weekend the Stones tribute played a larger event with 12 other bands (13 bands in 11 hours) that raised just under $5500.  Here's a couple of photos ....

Great cause! It seems like there's more severe flooding than in past years. Record flooding is predicted here as the snow starts to melt. We've already had 2 one in one hundred year floods in the past 15 years.

Good stuff Mark. We've been unable to join in the fundraisers due to our 2 guitarists having sick and dying parents unfortunately. We normally jump straight in when asked. Feels a bit strange not doing something to be honest.

as messed up as most musicians are we seem able to rise to the occasion when it comes to other folks misfortune...

 Always good to give back! We do a few charity gigs each year.

Very nice work Mark.  I know that the flooded areas suffered great devastation.  It is wonderful that you rose to the occasion and gave something back to the folks there. 

Unfortunately there seems to be more misery (in Japan) to have benefits for.
