Nice find!

With the exposed neck stripe I suppose it was a mapleglo.

Just sealed the deal on this beauty two hours ago.I traded my 74 jazz bass for it.March 72.pre skunk stripe, old style pehead with walnut wings, long guard.Pro refret and non original guard. All else is there. Original case too.

Wow. I love it. You need a new guard... this one is so wrong. Other than that, amazing.

reeeeaalll interesting. Early Rick 4000 basses had set necks. Some were routed for the neck pickup at the factory and shipped out as 4001S basses.

This one has the full width inlays though. I've never seen a set neck 4001 with deluxe features.

And binding. But it sure does look like a set neck.

weekend warrior

Its not a set neck. Its a regular 4001.It has a black pinstrip at the heal.Optical illusion. The guard on the 72 is a cheesy one thats for sure Ilan. But i have already rectified that situation
