Nick is now with his brother, Finway, and Gideon, who's also gone.
Finway went in 2004, Gideon in 2005. All I can say is letting Nick go is 6 years harder.
18-1/2 years together. Nick, I already miss you so much. Thanks for being there through layoffs, job changes, a big move, additional cats and dogs, bad girlfriends and now a good girlfriend. You were the rock. Thank you so much.

So so sorry. Nothing one can say. We love our pets in a totally diferent way than humans, but no less special and important. They have spirits too. And that remains.

My heart goes out to you, I know how you feel. It's been over five years since I lost my best pal of eighteen years and everytime I think of her my eyes get wet. I've got three kitties now, one of which looks like a long haired version of Nick.My wife is part of a cat rescue group and we have fostered a number of kitties and every time we give one up I cry like a little freakin' girl. You take care of them and you love them up and then you have to say goodbye.

I am sorry Denis they do become part of the family in many ways deserving our love and devotion more than some people in our lives. 18 years is a good run and it sounds like he had a dam good life. raise a glass remember the good and smile.

Some great photos Denis.  Very sorry for your loss.  It's amazing how these animals can attach themselves to your heart.

Thanks, guys. I can't look at those pics, and the others I have, without tearing up. It's really amazing how large a presence cats (and other pets too) can make in your life and how large a hole they leave when they are gone. We are truly lucky though to be able to keep such great friends as our pets, sometimes for years and years and other times for much shorter period.

I remember before Finway (Nick's brother) died, I jokingly thought to myself that the four cats I had were too damn many. Then when Finway died all of a sudden three cats weren't enough! And now I am down to one, the youngest, a calico named Magnolia. I wouldn't trade all those years with Nick, Finway, Gideon and Magnolia for anything.

Denis I couldn't help but notice the mantel clock, looks like a early Seth Thomas. :)

Thanks, man!

Good eye, Scott. It is a Seth Thomas. I got it next door after the resident abandoned the house and it was sold at auction. Got it for $60. Found another one in the trash that isn't as nice but runs like a top! As a side note, I have an Eli Terry clock that's been in our family since the early 1800s. Eli Terry taught Seth Thomas a lot of what he knew  about clock building.
