I actually bought a BCR single once. NO REALLY!

I bought Money Honey. Catchy R&R tune. I loved the gravel in the vocals and it was played with a great down and dirty attitude. Couldn't bring myself to buy tartan for my jeans though.

I was of course ridiculed by my Deep Purple/Led Zep enamoured musical colleagues at the time but I still like to listen to this song even now.

In a way, they were less fabricated than others. Shortly before their total commercial demise (their audience had outgrown them and they were not punk either), they were a decent pop band with some Northern Soul grit. They worked on their harmony vocals, always their strength.

i prefer the dusty springfield version. why wouldn't i. the less bombastic production and dusty's voice made the song even more alluring to a fumbling teenage me.

I also prefer the Dusty Springfield version, but the Joss Stone version is impressive.

I really liked Dusty's voice but I never could understand why so many guys thought she was hot.

I even liked when Pet Shop Boys used here on that song. Couldn't say I was a fan of her later look with the perm and all.....She was taken too soon though.
