With the bridge further to the front the whole thing becomes just as long as a regular Tbird. So the neck dive will be the same...
But you do get some proper upper fret access

Hmmm, maybe Scott already saw a solution for us that ensures high fretboard access while retaining short scale dimensions? He is renowned to have fearlessly pragmatic ideas on the subject.

Short scale Tbird, neck through with 1 mudbucker, bar bridge, choke and banjo pegs.  My kind of bass.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Duh - now I'm getting it! That wasn't a pic of the EB 11 you posted here at all, but of a vintage one. Why did no one keep me from writing silly things then?  :-[ Bunch of friends you are.

I was gonna say something earlier cause I got the impression some thought that was the new model. Didn't get around to it.  ;D I've had that same pic of the pelham EB0 for a while.

Sounds like it's going to be a LP Jr. shaped version of the SG reissue, which would be OK by me.  :)

A shame, too. Gibson was trying to move beyond signing endorsers who are well past their prime in popularity and move into selling "modern" basses that look 15-20 years out of date.

That's one UGLY Carvin.

Medium scale JAEbird concept/mockup.  I'll be building one for Jim, slightly modified.  1" more into the body.  Short scale also in the works.

I never thought about that before, it does look more like a Carvin than a Tobias.

Maybe Uwe can get Carvin to build him one.  ;D

looks wrong like that.  more like a guitar.   i like bridges at the back of the body,  IMHO that's where they belong and having played fenders for 38 years i don't want to have to think about where my hand is in relation to the pups and bridge.  Everyone will start to sound like Jaco ???

The bridge of my Gretsch Billy-Bo is almost in the same position as Rob shopped.

I don' t have a problem with the bridge being that much forward on short scale basses. I think it looks better even in some cases.
Just anchor your thumb at one of the pickups, you can't go wrong.

I wish they would just get it over with and reissue a non reverse T bird
