I'm simply amazed that many people have one of those screwdrivers!!  They are a triumph of technology, aren't they?

Some of my Stanley planes are pushing 100 years old and I still use them!  This Yankee Screwdriver is just one example of how great Stanley was.

I regularly use tools I pilfered from my grandfather's workshop after he passed.  My mum and I lived with him from when I was aged 3 to 12, so I spent hours and hours in that workshop with him, and I think it's just so cool to be still using some of his tools.  Some of them date back to the 1920s when he was an apprentice mechanic.  His initials are stamped into most of the wrenches.

I have one, it was called a "Yankee" screwdriver. I bought it when i was a carpenter in the 70s installing door hardware.

The Fender Factory was located on Raymond Street in Fullerton. There was a set of Santa Fe Railroad tracks on the north side of the property.  On the other side of the railroad tracks was a factory which made band instruments called F.E. Olds and Son.  I worked there for 3 years making Trombones in the mid 70s.  There were things that went on in that factory that would never fly today.
