Interesting idea: bridge upgrade kit
« on: January 04, 2011, 02:58:09 PM »
Found this on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bridge-Upgrade-kit-Rickenbacker-4000-4001-4003-bass-/160527481911?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item25602efc37#ht_586wt_1139

I like the hex key intonation screws, the seller promises "no need to remove the bridge to adjust intonation".

What do you think?

At that price could be worth a shot (if it would be of help) - they are a set of "fixings" and the seller makes it clear he's not in it for much of a profit...

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

''Incidentally, I deliberately used Pozi drive for the tailpiece, rather than Phillips, as the pozi heads have a much securer fitting, and therefore a much tighter fit without chewing the heads.'' Not sure about that, a Phillips screwdriver in a Phillips head screw is as secure as the next guy, he probably couldn't source Phillips screws. But then again, you only need the intonation screws anyway.

yeah. This idea came out a couple of years ago.Swapping the phillips head saddle adjustment screws for round hex. This works perfectly!Especially with a ball head hex wrench ;D
