The recession hasn't dampened unrealistic asking prices.

Now it's shown as a $12K starting bid. That's much better.

This one's more desirable to me

Same here.

I played a 59 EB-2 at Austin Vintage Guitars about 5 years ago in similar shape. It had $2200 price tag on it. Might possibly even be the same bass.

When Mars Music closed their doors they had a Epiphone Rivoli version of that early EB-2 Dave.  It had the same pickup and banjo tuners and the old style Epiphone script logo.  They had $2500 on it but I believe someone got it for around $1500 when they started to mark stuff down.

That looks identical to mine, I paid $1,400 about ten years ago. I haven't seen many 1959's with a single coil. they changed to the first mudbuckers in early 1959.

I take it back, the old Epiphone did have the black covered Mudbucker on it and not the single coil.

I remembered that walnut was never an optional finish?

Still can't beat the $200 I paid for my '68 Cherry EB-2 with factory dual large mudbuckers and stereo outs.
