Speaker reconing?

A friend of mine with a Sunn 1x15 combo was dissatisfied by the service (rather, NON-service) of a place here which claims to recone speakers.

Can anyone recommend a place? I don't think he'd have a problem shipping the speaker off to someone.

i bought an eminence delta 15" for about 74.00 new. why bother with a recone unless you want to keep it original.

The speaker is the original with the Sunn logo on it so he wants to recone it unless there's no other option. I like the idea of repairing/restoring stuff if it at all makes sense.

Hey Denis - did you bring it to Creative Acoustics (on Atlantic Ave.)?
They re-coned a pair of Advent home stereo speakers for me last year.
1 of them was done correctly. The other...not so much.

Yeah, that was the place, Steve. He took the amp down there and it sat for 2-3 weeks without being touched. Of course, maybe they didn't feel like taking the speaker out of the cab...

I had a pair of mismatched 12" Vox speakers out of an AC-50 reconed by Weber a few years ago. He let me know the speakers were made by Fane (I had no clue), and the speakers worked fine when I got them back. They're not bass speakers, but I would trust Weber with any speaker.

I thought I recognized their "work" from your description.
Too bad, it's a nice big shop with some great road gear and live sound cabs.
I had the same issue there - I called, then dropped it off and they said "2 days" - 10 days later and they didn't even know it was there.

Heh, that's the place. I think I liked it better when it was the Honda motorcycle shop.
