I'd pay 1,500 at the most and I'd have to be flush and in a real good mood. They are rare though. Makes me appreciate mine all the more.I do need to get rid of that black Bart and install some chromey goodness. ;D

The guitarist in my band has 3 of the 1976 Destroyer guitars.  One is mint with tags!  The last guitar Destroyer went for $1500 on Ebay.  I think the seller's sniffin' glue, although that is a nice example.

How does this model compare to the Epi natural - iirc Uwe said that was a better player/sound (?) than the equivalent Gibbie, or am I having an episode...?

The Epi goes for around £260 new over in the EU

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

I think in construction the Epi compares very favorably to the Ibanez. I think the drool factor with the Ibanez is that it is a rare '70s lawsuit bass. The Ibanez is well built by 70's standards but I think the Epi would score almost as well. The Detroyer's body is glued up ash with a heavy tinted poly korina finish. The Epi has a poplar or basswood body with the thinist of thin Korina veneer. The stock pickups on the Destroyer were nothing special, Right  away I started changing things out starting with a Dimarzio model P. If you are gassing for the Ibanez I think the Epi is a good second choice and a hell of a lot less $. Uwe has more experience with the Epi model maybe he will chime in.

That sure is a big $$$$$$$ price!! :o :o :o

Not had it out of the case for some time, might just have another look at it. ;)

Ah Eric that is a beauty ! Reminds me of mine when we first meet ! I think both the Ibanez and the Epi are far better basses than the '80s Gibson offering.

I miss Leslie Nielsen already.

It's an instrument with four strings but that's not important right now...  rip
