Thanks for posting that - I get the feeling that most folks there like what they're doing.

btw, What is the tool he uses at 6:50 after cutting into the nut?  iIs that to ensure that the bottom of the cut is a certain height above the frets?

I'll have to watch it later, no time now.

Isn't the "new" Guild factory actually the US Ovation and Hamer factory that FMIC bought when they bought out Kaman Music?

If Wikipedia is correct, it is. That was the Ovation factory back when it was strictly a US-made brand, and Hamer's Chicago area shop was eventually moved there and became the Hamer Custom Shop as more production went overseas.

I have a late 70's F50R acoustic that I bought in 1986. It's been a player all along and has its share of battle scars. When I was living in NYC I wanted to get it spruced up a bit (the truss rod was out of room for adjustment and the action was getting uncomfortable). I asked around and ended up taking it to a shop on 48th. The little old man behind the guitar repair counter said, "Hey, that looks like one of mine," and Carlo Greco himself reset the neck of my favorite guitar (including new binding) and refinished it, installed a new bridge, and put a new label in the sound box (it had gone missing at some point). What a cool guy, too.
