He was, it was after the gig; he admits to being 65 but I reckon he's a bit older.

Don't know TBH Scott, not as many as Slade gigs though - & that was 36 with the original lineup.
My first Motorhead was in '78 - maybe even '77, not long after he formed the original band. We spoke about that as the venue for that was just a few miles away. It was taken in his dressing room, I was given a pass cos of the thing I did down at Marshall - playing his amps before he did; which he had a laugh about but said they'd done a fantastic job on copying "Murder One" his number one amp.
Last time I saw them in Glasgow he had a lot of trouble with a new Rick custom, I asked where it was & he gave up on it; he was back to the first custom with the carved oak-leaves last night.

Great pic, Stu! I've seen Lemmy many times at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood. What a nice guy, too!

He was born Christmas Eve 1945. No word on whether or not a manger was involved.

Nothing but admiration for the man...

Nice one...

First saw them in Cambridge in '77 on the first tour for the album - MH as the first and last song... ;D

He was out front playing pinball with a bunch of people - thrashed me - gave me his game when had to go play...

Yeah he is, met him a few times before, a few years ago now. He's one of the very few people in music who is 100% what you see is what you get. 0 BS around him!

One of the old joys I had when did morning news was that every Christmas Eve, I'd play Motorhead on the air for Lemmy's birthday. ..did it three years in a row. It was always priceless to see the looks of confusion and fear on the anchors' faces as they came back from break to "Iron Fist."

When they used to play "Capricorn" live he'd always have some reference to his birthday in the intro; usually along the lines of "a bit of self indulgence for those poor b*****ds who have their birthday at Christmas"!

I looked up some celebrities born Christmas Eve. Choose one of the following:

a) Ricky Martin
b) Ryan Secrest
c) Howard Hughes
d) Lemmy
