I have to believe they are in exsistance to get rid of old stock parts.

BLACK guitar-sized pups and a bridge/tailpiece we've never seen? Either way, seems like a strange offering. I'm guessing they'll be super rare in the future.  8)

Since I had been away for so long, to help with Uwe's opinion: THE BEST LP BASS EVER! My only downside to her was the weight, but I'm a young strapping lad so I got over it quickly. The tone from that thing is the best mix of a 7ender and Gibson that I've ever heard (thanks to the maple top).

Never did want to ship her off to ze motherland...

That is NOT the bass I have been waiting for!

Not the bass I have been waiting for either but I have to say I would like one! It is not often  Gibson showers us bassists with features usually reserved for the six string elite. With a list of over 2,700 I am going to have to pass for now. Yes I realize I used the word showers in my post. Take it away boys.

Louder bass!.

I love the look of rosewood fretboards with no inlays! Really the only thing I don't get look-wise are the wooden knobs.
