Sometimes, they start a little younger.  My son got the urge to learn bass when he was about 12.  Somewhere, I have a shot of him at that age, in a wizard costume, with the Dano Longhorn I got him.  It was only a month before he commandeered my G&L.  Here he is when he was about 16, at one of a couple shows he did with a band.

George, I'd be worried. Really. Calling a band To(r)matoe is a thinly veiled attempt for a Yes-tribute ... From there on it can only get worse. Get those prog albums out of the house now ...

My oldest daughter is left handed but plays righty.  I have a buddy that is also left handed and plays both fiddle and mandolin righty.  I asked him, "So which hand do you use to choke the chicken?" to which he replied, "I have to use both."  :mrgreen:

Here's my son Keith with a Modulus 6 he's since sold. He's a little older than your Keith, though.
