hopefully any day now.....   haven'thgeard back from the shipping compny since i paid my duty....

I have actually installed the ebay artecs in a project bass i have. Bass came from a guy in brazil making boutigue knockoffs sans hardware and electronics.

...a little off topic, but I've played enough Warrior basses to say that your knockoff needs only to play and sound half as good as a Mexi-Fender to best the real thing.

The bird has landing.  It took a while but it was waiting at my front door friday evening when i got home.  Very nice bass.  Well made and very pretty in an ugly kind of way.  I will have to move the strap lock as recommended.  Sounds pretty good in a one man band but i will have to take it out to a rehearsal and gig before i decide if the pickup stays.  I will change the pots next weekend and AB against my 76 and other artec loaded bass.  500k pots the majority used???

here are the obligatory pictures of the bass

and a family portrait of the in line gibson clan...

thanks to all you guys for turning me on this beauty and thanks to Rob for a job well done....

That's a really nice shot of Mr and Mrs T-Bird. By the way, which one's the Mrs? I'm just curious so I won't make no mistake with my own B-bird...

That's interesting that there are some cherry ones with a black headstock and some with cherry. Any other differences?

Basvarken

As far as I know there are just the red headstocks... Where did you see a black one?

The one pictured above has the head in the shade. It might look a little black.

The down angel of the headstock didn't get any of the flash generated  light.  it is the same bass in all 3 pictures.  I wish the headstock was black.

No pics to share just yet because it's not finished but I've airbrushed the headstock on my cherry TH-1 black - It looks quite good that way and was easy to do.

Ah... If I'm not mistaken, the original (Gibson) burst NR's had a black headstock and the custom colored ones had a matching headstock. Again, with the BaCH bird, it's an 'anything goes' platform AFAIC. :)

Can't wait to see yours, Mark!

I am going to refinish in black the headstock of my cherry bachbird to make it similar to the original one. Do you know if any pickup cover is going to be available from greatdealz?
