I'm really glad BaCH changed the headstock to the large Gibsonesque-type on the NRs we bought. To me the Ibanez version looks okay, but would look better on an Explorer-type guitar or bass.
Those engineering drawings are cool. Thanks for sharing!

Well, here's me in my prime.  I managed to find a position where I could rest my arm on top of of the bass and my hand was right at the strings.  I only had about 1 1/2" of forward finger motion, so I cranked the volume a little.

Here's my finished bird.  It endured the outside pretty well last night.

Glad you made it through the night!

Hi there

Mark told me about this topic, and I've just registered.
Can I join you?

First,I apologize to you for my unskilled English, because I'm a Japanese.

A couple of weeks before, I got my sonic blue BaCHbird with croc hardcase directly from Czech.

Early in May,it showed "0,- CKZ" when my friend found it unexpectedly on the web ,
and he asked BaCH Music the schedule of second run by e-mail.

Early in July , he got a mail from them that said "You can buy,but we have last 4,so Pls be hurry!".
So we hurried to order black×1 ,white×1 ,blue×1 and 3 hardcases.

Geeeee! Shipping cost was 490EUR all of three...but there was no other way to send basses w/cases to our country.

It's O.Kay!!!  We don't care !!!!!, but crying...

And now , two of my friends and I have owned beautiful babes!  Yes, three BaCHbirds are here in Japan, far east .

Here is mine, sonic blue BaCHbirdie, just a little bit modified

She's so cute,isn't she?

And my NRs

Finally, an Axis Power friend! Your English is fine, I've been trying to teach these savages here some German over time, now they can learn some Japanese as well ...

And (how did that Styx song go?) a hearty domo arigato for taking the trouble to join us.

I have a sonic blue B&CH too. Excellent bass. Nice Birdie collection you have there.

Welcome, Sinji!  Great collection you have there.

I only have a few questions   ;)

Where on Earth did you find the Edwards bass?!   :o
Do you happen to know what woods are being used in it - mahogany, maple, etc...?
Is it a set-neck or bolt-on?
How does it play and sound compared to the BaCH?
and most importantly... is there a source in Japan from where these could be purchased?   ;D

Sorry for all the questions- I've never seen a bass like that before!  Very nice.

angrymatt

IIRC Edwards is ESP's Japanese brand.  And they make a lot of cool stuff that hardly ever makes it out of Japan.
