Looked Gibson enough for me to bite, pretty sure that is a Dimarzio in there  :) I tossed a 20 on it and it stuck so now I am the proud owner of a Hondo Pro. II ! Looks like fun.

Ought to sound very P-ish, which is A Good Thing!

Good score I'd say, 20 bucks well spent.

I had the 8-string version back in the early 80s. The beginning of my "multi-string" obsession.

I hope for you it's a DiMarzio.

Really can't tell from that blurry pic.

Neck looks warped, but it might be the pic...

Oh what the heck. It's only 20 bucks!  :toast:

I have 2 Hondos, both with necks that won't adjust great.  The pups are not DiMarzios.  Maybe you're thinking of Ibanezes of around the same vintage.  Still well worth the $20!

godofthunder

Ah well for $20 bucks who cares ? Still should be fun  :)

Exactly!  I was gonna keep quiet but figured you'd see it that way.  The pups actually sound pretty good and if that one's DOA I've got a spare you're welcome to have.

Very kind of you ! Lets see what I've got first !

Somewhere in one of my vintage Guitar Player mags there is an ad for Hondo and all of the guitars and basses in that ad featured Dimarzio's. So they did come stock with Hondo's at some point (late 70's??).

I just googled it and you're right.  In 1978 they were one of the first overseas makers to use them.  Maybe Scott has scored big time.
