Longhorn Case
« on: July 27, 2010, 06:00:14 PM »
Anybody know of a good hardshell case that fits a Dano Longhorn?

Just went out and tried a bunch around town and they're all a hair too small (guitar cases)

Bass cases are too big?

Someone around here has to have figured this one out...

I have no clue if this could work but what about a Bass VI case? If a bass case is too big and a guitar case is too small, a Bass VI case is right in between but I'm not sure if it will fit in other ways.

i got some other cases from that guy.  good quality no frills cases.  well worth it.   one of my longhorns has an original dano case ,  the other fits in a small bass/big guitar gig bag.

I'm gonna make a semi-uninformed guess that a standard non-form-fitting bass case is going to have way to much play to fit the longhorn. It will more than likely go inside, but it'll move all over the place.

I've been holding out to buy myself an official case, but still haven't yet. I just carry mine in a padded guitar gig-bag which fits it perfectly.

The eBay link that Denis posted is the most consistent place I've found Longhorn cases.
Occasionally you see one of the official ones pop up on eBay, but they generally sell for more than the Longhorn itself costs as they are becoming more rare.
I have often wondered if the Dano longhorn would fit in the Hondo Longhorn case.

Someone sent me the inside dimensions of an original Danelectro case, I'll try to post them tomorrow.

I think the Hondo was long-scale, if I'm not mistaken...

I used to have my first Jerry Jones Longhorn Bass VI in a Hondo Longhorn Bass case, fit just fine.
