i was looking that over yesterday. it is very doable. with not being able to rebreak the headstock, it should be repaired solidly. might try and veneer it saving the number along with a refin but that is descretionary.

i don't have the jack either. :-[

long slotheads are not very plentiful i would guess.

Definitely a player.  the finish cracks in that one are as pronounced as any I've seen in a while.

I also noticed that the body is a slab with no rounded edges.  Is that typical of that model?

Is there a US listing?  I can't find it.

The book on tasteful EB-3L revamping has already been written:

That said, an innocent old walnut EB-0 can also be subjected to fearsome German engineering upgrades:

I think that orange to blue one needs a trip to the U.S.  ;)

Thanks for posting that Uwe. Now I don't feel so bad about modding my EB-3L project!  Based on this one, I think I got a reasonable deal on mine too.  I think the price for this isn't bad at all.  If I had some extra cash around..............but I don't!

Here's the shot that tells me there is much LESS rounding of the body edges than on my EB-0...the front looks like a pretty square corner...

Well, it is less than four bones, with all the stuff you need to make a racket.  It doesn't have all original parts, but then again it is a busted headstock, and it is a slot head, so who cares?  Strip her down, glue it up, paint it up, slap on some tuners and guts.  Away you go  Not a bad deal really.  I prefer my EBs to be pre-1970, but I would consider this if I didn't have too many projects now.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

Pilgrim

I wasn't complaining, just observing the difference.  ;D

by jove i think Pilgrim has a good eye! i'd go for a restoration including hiding the glued head under a piece of veneer front and back and restamping the serial number if need be.

parts are going to be a bit of a bear but they are out there. just pay attention to the Bay. i just scored a decaled 60's bridge pup last week and a nos 70's era EB3 wiring loom two months ago.  8)
