Thanks guys.  I played it some more through my Mesa amp and it is a really sweet sounding bass.  While I'm not a fan of the thick poly finishes bass manufacturers use these days, this bass looks and sounds pretty good.  Definitely one for the collection.  Now, if I could just find a few wedding gigs to play it at............. :P

Absent the wedding gigs, you could do some judicious pinstriping with auto pinstriping tape and dress it up.  My local music store has some custom-pinstriped Gretsch guitars and they look really nice!  (And tape is removable..)

Are you telling me it's too understated as is?   :o  I did play it with my buddy who is a soloist who plays guitar, banjo, uke and mandolin.  He loved it!  We're going to work up a duet set or two.  Should be fun!

Maybe you could find someone with just a snare and some brushes to sit in for a few numbers... ;)

Well, gee, it's so.....austere looking in white.

A few pinstripes would liven it up, donchaknow?

I love that idea!!!  I did a couple gigs a few years ago with a guitarist/singer, a mando player, a lead guitar and a snare/highhat drummer.  It was so nice and was it ever sweet.  I haven't been able to put something like that together since, but I'd love to!
