I', quite sure that if the same had happened to me, the "good deal" factor would have taken over.  I'm selling some basses but the idea of a Gretsch hollow is lurking in the back of my mind.

You have always wanted one of those, the deal came, you will not regret it, I know you would have if you did not buy it.

Life is too short.

Congrats, can't wait to see more pix.

I think I can honestly say I've never regretted buying a bass.  Selling is another story.

Love it! My favorite hollow body. It's on my short list right behind a Lull Tbird and the possible CS NR reissue. Congrats.

Yeah, I really had to buy it.  He offered it to me months ago, but I didn't have the money he wanted.  The deal got better and I had to jump on it.

Great, I'm glad to hear that!  I have a 6072 which is essentially the same platform without all of the glitz!  It's a great sounding bass too.  The WF makes me think of a bass you'd use to back up Elvis!!!  ;)

Here she is!  What gaudy and lovely piece of Gretsch kitsch!  I love it.  Don't know if I'll ever be able to use the Bigsby in any creative way, but what the hell.  I might have to learn!!!  The layered binding is really well done.  I hate to admit I really like the entire scheme!    8)

I also didn't know it was signed by Fred Gretsch!  That's cool too.

She sounds great.  With all of the switches, you have about 50 variations.  The pups are very strong.  Much stronger than they were a few years back.  I had a Gretsch Broadkaster about 4 years ago and it was weak compared to these two basses.  Everyone was yanking them out and putting TV Jones' in their place.  They got a lot of complaints back then and I think they made the pups stronger in their output.  Aside from strong, they are very clear and with all of the switches, you can dial in anything from thumping bass to middy to thin and high pitch nasal tone.  The hollow body seems to accentuate the tones.  It has rounds, but I may switch to flats later.
