gibson EB3 late model and Ripper early model chokes

Very large Marshall amps will make up for a lot of signal deficiency.

Just watched the new FREE Live DVD.  Fraser's tone and playing are incredible.  To me Bruce's tone is muddy in comparison on Wheels of Fire.  Can't fault the playing, must have been that cap!

thought the choke on the eb3 was a square 9 voly battery sized thing???

that's what was used in the EB-2s.  here's a ripper choke

I'm hoping what's really important are the specs, not the physical appearance.  As long as the numbers are close I'll be happy to drop one in my project.

an update FWIW,

Curt recieved the wiring loom with the choke and my present of a few plates and it is on the back burner. his wife is recovering from an infection following some minor surgery and he is getting ready to move to Yucca Valley as wifey is employed by the govrn't and has gotten transferred to Palm Springs so the back burner might be a ways back.

i'm sure it will happen eventually, just not quick.

however for Ripper fans, the switch pictured below is sold by Mouser and with the tangs bent at 90 degrees to reduce the back measurement depth requirement in a thin body, it works well in Rippers. it is a shorting switch which reduces the "popping" when switching and is very cost effective at under 10$. the part number is in the picture. it does not have much of a neck to stick through wood but has enough to stick through plastic hence i do not use it for eb's but like i said, it works well in Rippers.
