Phil's been playing just his black Fender Jazz bass LIVE in SoCal but the chicks have been diggin' his plexiglass bass in the vid, lemmetellya.
The more I listen to this guy the more I see he keeps getting better & better, as the whole band does!!!!

I got their remastered YESTERDAYandTODAY stuff from the mid-70s & their remastered 90s cds too & it's AMAZING how great these guys were back in their early days & REALLY AMAZING how FANTASTIC they've become!
Gonna see 'em again tonight on the Redondo pier & then I'm heading up to SF next weekend to attend their CD Release Party at the fab Fillmore! or should I spell it Philmore!

Lovin' this guy more an' more! Kennemore! Yeah!!!!

As a cancer survivor, my heart always hurts when somebody else is diagnosed, or is taken by the disease. This time it's somebody who influenced me quite a bit during my first year playing. I remember when the guy who lived across the street from me as a kid showed me the first Yesterday & Today LP back in '76. He ran a snack route to supermarkets and had a friend who was in a position to trade promo LPs for cookies, chips or whatever. Upon listening, I was floored by the rhythm section, Meniketti's playing and the songs. The album quickly became a staple for me, and I'm not ashamed to say I ripped off alot of Phil's licks over the years - based on what I heard in those grooves. I ultimately snagged my friend's promo copy in a even up trade for Cheap Trick At Budokan, and it's still in my collection - along with a couple of sealed "backup" copies. Still have to pick up the CD somewhere.
RIP Phil - a true "Earthshaker"...

Saw Phil twice with Y&T.
Their gig at Arrow Rock Festival was the best of that bill.

To me he never was a special bass player. But with the band they had a chemistry that was unbeatable.
Going to put my vinyl copy of Earthshaker on the turntable tonight.
I Believe in You!

RIP Phil K

Cool that you were among the first to get FACEMELTED!

"They say that when a soul has unfinished work to do a crow will accompany him back to the land of the living...."

There's a crow...tapping, tapping on my door.
Is what they say true, Mr. Crow?
Quoth the raven, "Kennemore"

I'm thinking of doing a graphic novel...a new Crow story. Yep. Starring Phil!
The first Crow flick with Brandon Lee is my fav movie!
