I never knew about these.  Anyone ever play one?  Does Uwe own one?

Olivias has a nice little collection for sale.

There's no picture, Gary, but isn't there one with a piezo, and iirc, Uwe prefers the sound to the normally aspirated re-issue, although I do not remember how he views the "original copy", which I guess is rarer than the 1st three, I guess...

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

It's one of the socalled Shadow Explorers which featured a piezo bridge pup from German piezo maker (with Croatian origins) Shadow. I have one in red, true, a more common fin than the stripey one on offer here, but then it only cost me 600 bucks some five years ago!

They do sound better than the regular magnetic ones, bassier and more assertive with nice, but not overdone piano rrrring presence. Mahogany body and piezo is a much more pleasant combo than maple or alder and piezo.

There was also a Q-80 piezo-equipped, I have that as well.
