I thought it was about leaving the little boy's behind?

Veering even further OT;
Am I the only one here who likes Prog rock and Fusion jazz? :(

You can have the fusion crap, but I happen to love prog rock.  Big King Crimson fan, here.

Also a big Yes fan.  At one point, I actually knew how to play most of "Gates of Delirium".

Lately, the closest thing to prog I like is Deerhoof.

And, I happen to like ELP's Pictures at an Exhibition...

The best version of Gates Of Delirium is on the DVD Symphonic Yes. Having a full orchestra with that piece of music is awe- inspiring.

Ditto all three! I also love Can, Bevis Frond, Man (although I own none of their albums), Baby Grandmothers, and some others. Rhino put out a great box set a few years ago called "Supernatural Fairytales", a 5-cd compilation of prog rock. It's great!

Denis! Those Baby Grandmothers that you mention, is it the Swedish group from the 60's you're refering to? If so, has anyone here listened to Kebnekaise, the Swedish band that in the mid '70s consisted of two bass players, two drummers, two guitarists, one fiddle player, one conga player, and a female singer? If not, here's a link. Great band. You couldn't find a band in Sweden with a more strung out audiende. I know. I was there when it happened, so I know, as Johnny Cash sang.

YES, the Swedish band from the '60s! I love that band!We have the s/t album at the station, originally recorded in '69 and re-released in '07 by the Subliminal Sounds label. There are only 7 songs on that cd, one of which is very long. Good stuff! Haven't heard of Kebnekaise but I'll see what I can find. Sweden and a bunch of great prog bands. Several labels are re-releasing this stuff again, especially Past & Present.

If more people at this good place is interested in Baby Grandmothers, let me remind you that guitarist Kenny Håkansson was a memeber of that band, the Mecki Mark Men, and Kebnekaise too. So was drummer Pelle Ekman. The pair's been playing together for around 45 years now!
Last year I went to a concert with Kebne, as they are called. As I know those guys in the band, they are all closer to 65 than 55, long ago were heavy influenced by English instrumental guitar group The Shadows, I approached one of the bass players, Göran Lagerberg, once in Swedish pop group Tages, and asked him, just for fun, which guitar player was Hank B Marvin, and which one was Bruce Welch? He looked at me as he was looking at a fool.
But don't worry, partners: I had counted on that reaction!
Then he turned around to leave. I pulled the next question:
- So there ain't no Jet Harris (legendary bass player in The Shadows, roll model for a generation of European bassists) in the band?
Lagerberg stopped. Turned around. Looked at me with halfclosed red eyes, and a big smile:
-  Well that's me, off course! Must be!
Here you have Kebne from a gig last year.

In the first version of Kebne, as a fourpiece, the second guitarist beside Kenny H was guy called Rolf Scherrer. He died -94, heart failure. But before that, he was part of another great Swedish rock band called Jaguar. Sorry, can't find them on the tube. Remember the name. One of Swedens best bands, ever!
And while we're at it: Bo Hansson, organist in duo Hansson and Karlsson, died two weeks ago. He had been in bad shape, lately. 40 years ago something, he made a record with music inspired by Lord of the Rings. Nice guy. Wish he was here.

Concerning Kebnekajse; I find them more in the vein of Wishbone Ash, actually. A bit folksy, a bit - a very tiny, little bit that is - prog.
