Dang.  Mark's practically next door, but he'd have to sell a bass or two to pay for that toy.

Impressive boat, even if Neil hadn't owned it.

No doubt it's expensive to maintain.

Definitely owned her...

According to the article it costs $250,000 annually to maintain it.

Whats that saying ? A boat is nothing more than a hole in the water to pour money in. I sail and I love that yacht, it is beautiful. Never in a million years could I afford such a thing.  :o

But:

"Ragland is outfitted with a railroad car full of mahogany in her hull. The ship features solid teak decks and deck structures up to four inches thick"

And we all love a good hunk of wood.

What a beaut! Seems like a great price!!!!

250k is an awful lot to spend per year to maintain it tho.
Why would it cost so much to maintain? Crikey

My Neil Young mad co worker informs me that Neil also at one time owned a model train company and is credited with inventing a few electrical specialties relating to hobby trains.
Digresion our specialty!

I also have a Neil Young mad co-worker.  He just spent over $500 on 2 tickets to his upcoming Bass Concert Hall show.  (and that was the regular price)

If you've ever tried to keep up with a wood boat, you'd know.  CONSTANT maintenance on every part - constant wood refinishing, parts repair, hull work, rigging work....it's something you hire very good people to do, not pursue yourself.

Geez, $250K might be the entire annual beer budget of everyone on this forum!

Wouldn't perhaps Lynyrd Skynyrd be interested in buying it and then having it sunk by this?  ;D
