I am sorry but I just do not get the whole "Buy a new guitar that is not only already scratched and dented but also the scratches and dents are identical to your favourite players guitar." Not to mention the insane price this added damage will cost you.  I just dont understand the logic at all  ???

It's perfect for guys who copy their favorite players' licks note for note. Might as well copy the guitar dent for dent.

For $499,99 plus postage/customs fees I can relic your guitar. So the only thing you must do is go buy an ordinary cheap guitar and send it to me. I will teach her a lesson.

Wonder if you get one of these along with that 25.000 dollar guitar...

Agreed, I'll do my own relicing the old-school way, thank you very much!

Ah, but to be paid to beat the crap out of new guitars!  Now that's a fulfilling carrer! :P

Hornisse

I remember a time in the late 1970's when you could buy a real late 50's sunburst Les Paul for around 3 grand.

When I was in highschool, say mid seventies, you could walk into Rockin Robin in Houston and take your pick of 60's SGs, Melody Makers, etc for about $250.00 - I can remember walking in and seeing dozens of the things hanging 10' off of the floor just gathering dust

Boomer nostalgia took care of that.

Of course if we had all worn President Ford's WIN buttons in the mid seventies, prices would still be that low.  :P  ;)

For "posers" only... don't approve of this sort of thing... yes, all of my instruments have been "modified" in some way, but there is just no way I would want to buy an instrument that's been deliberately "distressed" as it is "professionally" termed...

Hmm... mind you, Exiled and Buzz have got the idea... I could probably "time-warp" a few... ;D

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

I dont know about you guys but as crazy as this sounds I actually go out of my way to make sure my instruments dont get knocks and dents   Obviously I have got this all wrong and should be paying someone 5 times the normal price to knock my instruments around each time before I buy them.  I guess by doing this I do get the opportunity to hold up my new instrument in front of my musician mates and say "check it out! it has all the same dents and scratches as Billy Gibbons guitar!"  Cant wait to see their reaction.  ;D

Send over to me, Bret, and I'll offer you an LBO discount...

(25% extra "distressing" at no extra charge... :vader:)

That's a good offer Kenny, but people of the LBO hear mine:

I won't relic your instruments myself.
Instead, I'll let this job to half naked koritsia with fruits.
Heck, I'll even send you pictures of the process at NO CHARGE!!!
