You guys are still playing out this April fools?   :P

I'll know its real when you announce they're building a custom shop NR with a Zakk Wylde bullseye paintjob and robot tuners  ;D

"Veni, vidi, vici"  Well, we did our best!  The Gibson rep was a lady and she loved our NR basses.  Scott wrote down all of the vintage specs we'd like to see and she was interested and receptive.  The minimum run on something like this is 25 and she said it all depended on the Custom Shop's interest in building them and the dealers and if they'd order them.  She also told us the CS hates building TBs and Firebirds because of the neck thru design, wings, laminate necks, etc.  They just don't like all the work it entails.  We told here there's none of that needed in an NR and she thought that sounded good.

So, now we sit and wait....................

They had the store all decked out for the Gibson reps and fans.  They are having dinner and a bit of a party tonight.

Here we are with Trish the rep............................

Are those Gibson samples, or do you your guys own those and brought them in??  Love them!

I thought I posted here some time ago after I talked to a Gibson rep here in Halifax and had asked about a new Nikki Sixx T-bird (which he said would come out and it did) and about the NR style, and he said there was talk about it.

I'd do one, color not an issue.  Like Pelham blue and Cardinal Red tho :)

The basses in the pic are ours, both 60's originals.  Mine was the trashed carcass I rehabbed and Scott's is one he bought used in the 70's.  Trish was great.  I hope the CS guys are as enthusiastic as she was.  BTW, she thought 2 colors, one traditional burst and a solid would probably be what the shop guys would go for. She loved my vintage cream NR.  So, you never know!

The whole lot of them should be sent to the Rickenbacker bass penal colony!

I agree with you guys, what a bunch of pussies. How could you spend your entire life making one LP guitar after another???  Uwe's right, send them to Ric!

Well, if the CS guys don't like making regular TBs, I can imagine what they'd think of a 8 stringer, but it probably wouldn't be good (or affordable).  I don't know if you could sell 25 of them or not.

Lets keep them focused on 4 banger NRs, no need to muddy the waters. I am stunned they are even talking about this run.

Well, the NR has a set neck, so quite easy. Easier than a Les Paul and as easy as an SG Reissue....

I'm with Scott.  I'm surprised there's interest, but when heavy-hitter dealers are involved, I would think Gibson needs to ingratiate themselves a little since they've not always treated their distribution networks/dealers very well over the last decade.

Btw way the color options Trish the Gibson rep. liked were tobacco sunburst and vintage white, I would be happy with either.  :)
