70's Greco Thunderbird
« on: March 10, 2010, 02:53:22 PM »
Sounds like I might have a local lead on a 70's Greco Thunderbird! Good price, guy says it has had no breaks, two pickups, and a two point bridge. He does mention that the bridge is like nothing he's seen on a Greco before so he says it may be a bridge change. Getting pictures emailed to me tonight. I'll keep you all posted.

If I get this, that'll put me from 1 Thunderbird in December to 4 Thunderbirds in March (assuming I get that BaCHbird and the French don't keep it!).

Mark, I'll show you mine if you show me yours  ;D

Good thing I looked here before calling on this.  My folks live somewhat close to this and it would have been an excuse to go and see the bass, I mean them...

Haha, where are you originally from? NE or IA? I'll take a look at it, if the guy ever sends me pics, and if I pass I'll let you know!

It's not so much I'm really after one, just more like this one was $300 and I'm pissed that I didn't just say "consider it sold".

Why, there is always a healthy interest here in Grecos and this one was the cheapest I've seen sofar.
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...

Nevermind, I wasn't sure if the thread had become null.

Let's keep the party going then, everyone post pics of your Greco Thunderbirds!

...Mark that means you!

Ouch. That would hurt me deeply. I've been after a Greco Bird for a while now. A friend of mine had one that was magic. It played and sounded better than any Bird I have played before or since (not a huge number). He promised me I would have first dibs if he ever sold it but of course forgot this promise when he did. I still cry about it sometimes.

 Sexy Greco single pup goodness
I'm not usually a big fan of s/b type finishes, this *may* get a custom color at some point. Meantime it rocks!
