Joseph Stack, the guy who flew the plane into the building, was a bassist.

I don't want to get into a discussion of his motives, just thought this tidbit might be of interest.

I read his suicide ramble, and he was completely batsh!t.

From what I've heard, one other body has been recovered. Also, one person hospitalized in serious condition, one hospitalized and released.

RIP to those who died at this guy's irresponsible hand. I feel bad that even this was immediately made a political football online yesterday. I don't think any reasonable person on either side of the aisle would champion such a thing.

As a sign of respect for our hosts I rarely wade into the very few somewhat political topics that come up here, because they have asked us not to get into that at the Outpost. I'm not shy about stating my thoughts elsewhere because others can choose to remove me from their friends' list if my opinions offend them to that degree.

That being said, yesterday's news should never have been about what political identity group that SOB could be tacked to (by the opposing political identity group). I feel sorry for his tax plight but that's what accountants and lawyers are for and if he was unhappy with the outcome he had other options other than to murder innocent people (including trying to kill his wife and child according to one news account I read) while trying to make his point.

They didn't come home to find their house burned down. From what I heard he set the house on fire with them in it. Fcuk him for that, and we'll sort out the rest of his evil shit later.

According to what I saw on the news, his family had already left the night before to stay somewhere else.  Speculation is that the wife had left because of some kind of marital dispute.

That's what the Houston paper says this morning - speculation of marital trouble and that the wife and step daughter spent the night at a hotel the previous night.  They came home to see the house on fire.

Seems like the nut job was in an alt country band and masked his problems from associates fairly well.

News reports on the day it happened said his wife and daughter were pulled from the house unharmed. Here's an instance that I'm glad the papers got it wrong. What he did was bad enough but thinking he tried to kill his own family as well made it worse on some level.
