OK, I haven't gotten squat done on my projects, partly because I need some of those darn spool clamps for the edges of two of them.  So, I bought some birch dowels (1.25" diameter), cork, 100 bolts, washers and wing nuts and.....tada!

25 done, 15 to go!!!

All totaled, I've got about $1 into each clamp.  A good deal for sure!!!

OK, you know I'm electronically challenged and only recognize the term, but couldn't use or describe it if forced to do so.  Something about inductance or resistance?  Man, where's my old shop teacher when I need him?   :P

Can't beat a buck apiece ! I always find it annoying to have to make something to make something.

Well, I do have more patience now than I used to possess.  Like making templates.  I used to hate it, but now I find them so helpful, and reusable, I don't mind so much.

Hey Doc!?   I see that you're cutting your cork the hard way - if you can find some conduit or  maybe a piece of pipe with the correct I.D. you file a nice edge on a 6 " piece of it and voila' - instant die cutter!  You could probably cut 4 at time.

This will work if you can find the right I.D. pipe - I would probably still be driving around town looking for it too :-[

It's funny, I did think of this.  But I was going to ask my machinist friend to do something like that.  I didn't bother as he can't do anything in less than 4 months!  At least he's one guy who's so busy at work, he has some job security.
