What guage? It's a string thru so shorties can be a little too short. Medium scale?

nofi

i have a string thru short scale and standard 34" strings work.

rockinrayduke

Yes, that's how I have it strung now.

Medium scale LaBellas worked for my reissue Mustang Bass when I had it. But only rounds - they say not to use their flats with thru-body bridges...

I have Fender short scale strings on my '66 Mustang and the silk wrap ends at the nut.

Cool cool, I meant pics of the bass  ;) but...
I gotta go with flats myself, D'Addario & Rotosound Medium scale fit well on my 'stang. But I do love the feel of the vintage pure nickel roundwounds that a friend has on his 'stang.

Second row, 1st from left. It was stripped by a previous owner, was originally Oly White. Sorry I don't have a larger pic of the Mustang alone.
