I'm just completing a rework of the RD Artist pages on my website. Can anyone here provide any information about the 1977 NAMM show? Did anyone go? I am looking for photos, anecdotes, flyers, brochures etc.

Can anyone help?

How old do you think we are??

We know Dave is an oldman, but really?

I was one year old at the time:)

I was a junior in HIGH school in 77, Namm was a war my brother served in back then.

Ok, I thought you had an RD Artist from new John? And of course the RD Artist was launched at the '77 NAMM show. The reason I ask is that John Entwistles original 'spiderbass' RD Artist was to have been displayed there. I want to find a pic, or at least confirmation that it was there

Way back then we had one tiny music store and they would have Gibson catalogues. I ordered mine from the catalogue in 78-79?

I remember seeing 70's bicentennial t birds at the store as well and was trying to decide between the two. I chose the RD because it was supposed to be the new "break through" electronics in guitars at the time and I hated that red, white & blue Americana Tbird graphic. After Vietnam, patriotism was not at a high point back then.

I was oblivious to what a trade show was at the time.
