Yeah, Carmenere is typical for Chile, it's a grape that continues to only grow there after all the old Carmenere vinyards in Europe have disappeared due to a pest that Chile doesn't have. Of course, all the other classics such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah are on offer as well (I didn't see any Zinfandel though - that is not only a great grape for fruity rosés, but also sedatively heavy reds). Carmenere is for people who find a Merlot too heavy and a Cabernet Sauvignon too upfront in taste.
