What's this John & DC, Michigan boys all sticking together...?

And don't forget DC, owning a Peter Cook "Thunder"-Bird (and a Hiwatt), I gotta take an interest in your "Fender"-Bird ...! Just a marginally earlier era...

He's fallen into my trap, Scott...  ;D

Lotsapictures...! It's dangerous to ask me for info...  ;)

Curt it is then; glad to know you...

There's a thread presently running in "projects" which may be of interest to you...

Yep, an original Peter Cook which may have been a one-off, but no way of knowing as he has disappeared... I've owned her since '77, bought 3rd hand, estimate built in 1972, and Mr Cook worked on her a few times for me, but he would not tell me who (no pun) he made her for; the only comment he made was "Oh, that one..." with a big grin... check out the case for sheer OTT, as supplied from new...!

"D profile" neck, in a thru neck format, Gibson hardware, Schaller tuners, originally had custom gold plated pups, stamped "PETER COOK"; one died, one is presently missing... a lot of TLC presently going on...

This was my first posting on the site... sorta gives you an idea of my lunacy...

My Hiwatt is a 1970 DR103 "SWITCH", like a DR103S but with an odd plate (according to Mark Huss, who is one of the most knowledgeable on the beasties); all my gear is getting long in the tooth but I was off the scene for 20 years, so getting everything back to spec has been fun...

There is also a thread on the amp too, in our amp section...

That should keep you going for a while...!

Very cool!

At first I hated the fact that John had this bottles on his mic stand. Later I learned one contained red wine and the orher brandy:) What's in yours?

Yeah, I had mixed feeling about using the "water bottles"...but once they were on there I got spoiled!
I actually talked to a guy who was responsible for filling those bottles for John during The WHO’s 1999 Tour…
He said one had white wine; the other was straight Jack Daniels!
I had heard about white wine before but had thought in the 70’s when he started using them that it was Brandy or a Scotch Whiskey in the other.

To answer your question… As of recently, I have water in both.
…But have typically had Whiskey/Scotch and Coke in one of them!  ;D

Kenny… I’m still taking in all of your Peter Cook bass story!!!

I'd heard he commonly had brandy in at least one back in the late 70's...

Curt... I did warn you... the "Phoenix" thread on her rebuild takes some time, too...  ;)
