One of my regular searches for Ned Callan basses... this one has had some work done and is fretless...

The last one went for under £300, and this guy wants twice that...

I'm starting to really like this body shape. Though this one doesn't looks that cool with that pickguard.

The only problem I have with conversion fretlesses is that dot markers right between the fretlines makes me all confuse and lost.

Looks like the upper horn melted.

I wouldn't buy a conversion fretless for the reason you mention. I could do without markers, but if they're there, they have to be in the right place.

Daniel_J

That's what I meant, Dave. Because the markers are between the fretlines it makes me confuse and lost, it should be either just fretlines without markers or just markers in the right spot without fretlines.

Dave W

Daniel, I understood you, I was just adding to it.

My first instrument was cello. I can deal with no markings, I don't think I could deal with markings in the wrong place.

This works...

Most people don't even realise she's fretless until I start playing...

Original mod was by Peter Cook (temporarily, he ground the frets off, so I could get the feel for her as a fretless) and I later had her permanantly modded by Andy's in London (Could no longer locate Mr Cook... he also swopped out the dot markers... white on a maple neck...
